A Belle Center area teen was charged with felony assault Saturday evening after he allegedly assaulted a corrections officer while being booked into the Logan County Jail.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrested Colton Fullenkamp, 18, of 8524 County Road 97, on charges relating to underage consumption, criminal damaging, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
He was transported to the jail about 11:15 p.m., and was placed in a holding cell at that time, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
The defendant then began pounding on the cell. When corrections officers opened the door, an altercation ensued, during which Mr. Fullenkamp allegedly punched a corrections officer in the face. The teen was sprayed with mace as a result, and then was placed in a restraint chair.
The corrections officer was not seriously injured in the altercation.
Police officers report the defendant was found at the Super 8 Motel, 1117 N. Main St., with Bridget N. Eagy, 19, of 3070 State Route 292, East Liberty.
Motel staff and guests had complained of loud noises coming from their room and they were concerned she was being held against her will.
When they were finally able to get both out of the room, they determined both had been consuming alcohol.
She was lodged on a warrant for failure to appear and charged with underage consumption.
