Mr. Douglas was southbound on U.S. 68 and his auto struck the rear of a southbound sport utility vehicle operated by Amie M. Teeters, 32, of Fremont, which had slowed for deer crossing the road. The force of the crash propelled the Teeters vehicle into the northbound lane where it was struck by a northbound pickup truck operated by Luke M. Jolliff, 33, of East Liberty, and came to rest in a ditch.
All vehicles were heavily damaged. Mr. Douglas sustained non-incapacitating injuries, but was not transported. The other two drivers were not injured. All drivers used seatbelts, deputies reported.
