Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and a car about 10:20 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 33 near County Road 10.

Randall Erckert Sr., 48, of Columbus, reportedly was operating an eastbound semi when he swerved to miss a deer and struck the rear of an eastbound car operated by Gary Bowman, 53, of Raymond.

The semi then struck a concrete barrier and jackknifed.

No injuries were reported. Mr. Erckert was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

• About 11:20 p.m. Friday near the same location, troopers also responded to a report of a hit-skip crash.

R.B. Lame, 60, of North Lewisburg, reported that he had been operating a car and attempting to enter U.S. 33 eastbound from the C.R. 10 entrance ramp. He said another vehicle passed him on the right side and clipped the right fender on his vehicle.

Mr. Lame did not report any injuries.

• John Beach, 17, of Bellefontaine, was cited for a stop sign violation after a non-injury crash Sunday afternoon at state routes 235 and 47.

He reportedly was operating a westbound sport utility vehicle on S.R. 47 about 1:30 p.m. when he failed to yield at the stop sign and struck a southbound SUV on S.R. 235 operated by Ashleigh Wallace, 17, of Lakeview.
