Dollar General stores report shoplifting

Officers are investigating a suspected shoplifting from Dollar General, 884 E. Sandusky Ave., that occurred about 3:41 p.m. Sunday.

Store associates reported that a male and female suspect had been in the store behaving suspiciously and store staff suspected they had stolen some items.

Empty hangers were reported in the children’s and women’s clothing aisles.

As the associates attempted to confront the couple, they ran away from the store.

• Officers were dispatched to the Dollar General store at 338 E. Columbus Ave. about 4 p.m. Monday in reference to a suspected shoplifting complaint.

A store manager reported a female suspect had pushed her and fled in a dark green pickup after she was confronted.

As the suspect was fleeing the store, she reportedly took two items, toy guns, from her clothing and dropped them. Store staff wasn’t sure whether the woman had made off with any additional merchandise.

The woman was described as a heavy set white female, wearing black frame glasses. She had “funky” teeth, according to police reports.

The woman fled in a dark green extended cab pickup truck, according to the store manager, who reported there was a small child with blond hair in the truck as the suspect left the parking lot and drove southeast.

Police are following up.
