Quincy Village Council approved a six-month extension at a recent regular meeting for All American Energy to procure necessary funding to bring natural gas to DeGraff and Quincy.
Gregg Norris, a local representative for the natural gas cooperative, said about half of the funds have been raised for the project. Efforts to obtain private investments to cover the rest of the costs are under way, Mr. Norris said.
All American Energy has broken ground on a project to supply natural gas to West Mansfield and Rushsylvania. DeGraff Village Council also approved the extension, Mr. Norris said, adding he expects the Quincy-DeGraff project to be done in time for the 2014 heating season.
