The words “thank you” are small compared to the sacrifice area men and women have made in serving their country, but they were reiterated throughout a Saturday morning ceremony at the Harold Kerr American Legion Post 173.
“The words ‘thank you’ seem hollow,” Pastor C.J. Plogger said. “They seem perfunctory and small compared with what you have given us. But we say ‘thank you’ and it does mean a lot. It is because of how you served that I can stand up here and say what I am saying. Because of your service, you have made our country the best possible country to live in.
“To the veterans of the United States Armed Forces, thank you for your service, thank you for your commitment and thank you for your lives,” the pastor said.
