4 transported after head-on collision


A Sunday afternoon crash in the 3500 block of south U.S. Route 68 resulted in one person being transported by medical helicopter and three people being transported by squads for treatment at area hospitals.Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report Tanya Crislip, 37, of Bellefontaine, was operating a northbound sport utility vehicle about 2:10 p.m. when she went left of center. A southbound car operated by Shirley Dunaway, 77, of West Liberty, took evasive action to avoid her SUV, but the SUV still struck the car head-on. A passenger in the Crislip vehicle, Gregory Crislip, 40, of Bellefontaine, was transported by MedFlight helicopter to OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus for incapacitating injuries. Ms. Crislip and another passenger, Logan Crislip, 14, and Ms. Dunaway were transported by Macochee and Bellefontaine squads to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries. All occupants were wearing their seat belts, troopers report. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. No citations have yet been issued.
