As a way of living out their Christian faith, Keith and Trista Hardwick have started a unique “pay-it-forward” program to offer free sandwiches to the community’s hungry.
Patrons of the Hardwick’s restaurant, Don Downtown Diner, 208 S. Main St., can donate toward the program which will cover a $6 sandwich, chips and water lunch. It includes a $1 tip for the waitstaff, Mrs. Hardwick said.
“We’re hoping other downtown businesses might do the same,” she said.
