A "Jugs of Love Candlelight Memorial" will be conducted shortly before dusk Saturday, Oct. 26 to mark the one-year anniversary of Austin Houser's death and to provide an opportunity for community members to remember their own loved ones.
Austin was killed by a drunk driver Oct. 25, 2012.
His mother, Ellenna, is inviting the public to bring a milk jug or other container with a candle to her home at 2690 Township Road 40, north of Rushsylvania. The jugs, which may be decorated with a loved one's name, will remain lighted for eight days and will be maintained by members of the Houser family.
Pastor Lynn Cleaveland of the Rushsylvania Church of Christ will lead the event.
In case of rain, the event will be held Sunday, Oct. 27.
