Ohio Hi-Point school board approved participation Wednesday at a regular meeting in a self-funded Logan County Insurance Consortium.
The consortium establishes and carries out a benefits insurance program for district employees. Other county schools in the consortium include Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Riverside and the Logan County Educational Service Center.
The consortium is responsible for anticipating claims and setting premiums, while still using the Anthem network, board members report.
Hi-Point will switch to the self-funded insurance model in January.
Assistant treasurer Sheryl Losh announced her retirement effective in April, the board reports. She has worked in the district for 25 years.
An open house has been scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, at Ohio Hi-Point. Sophomores and their parents from each of Hi-Point’s 14 partner schools to will explore “life at Hi-Point.”
