Drivers identified in C.R. 130 crash

Russell W. Boggs, 33, of Bellefontaine, was transported by CareFlight helicopter to OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus for non-incapacitating injuries sustained in a crash on County Road 130 Monday morning.

Injured motorist flown to Columbus hospital

 

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that Mr. Boggs was operating a northbound car in the crash that occurred about 8 a.m. near County Road 91. His vehicle and a southbound sport utility vehicle operated by Christina D. Higgins, 44, of Bellefontaine, sideswiped each other.

Ms. Higgins was transported by Huntsville squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries. Her passenger, Daniel S. Pulfer, 53, of Bellefontaine, was transported by private vehicle to Mary Rutan Hospital.

Deputies continue to investigate the crash, and no citations have yet been issued.

• Two people were injured in a crash about noon Monday on State Route 235 just east of County Road 35.

Ellsworth J. Harris Jr., 69, of Huber Heights, was operating a westbound pickup that was hauling a boat when he attempted to pass farm equipment in the roadway. His vehicle then struck an eastbound car operated by Donald L. Smith, 79, of Huntsville.

Mr. Harris and his passenger, Lynn Harris, 65, of Huber Heights, each was transported by Quincy squad to Wilson Memorial Hospital, both for non-incapacitating injuries. Mr. Smith did not report any injuries.

Mr. Harris was cited for improper passing.
