A village resident expressed her concern before West Liberty Village Council recently during a regular meeting about the number of students walking off the campus of Adriel School.
Resident Wendy LeVan said there have been 87 incidents of students running away from Adriel School within the last year. Mrs. LeVan resides at 417 N. Detroit St. and says she won’t allow her children to play outside because of the school for troubled youths located at 414 N. Detroit St.
Runaways caught within the village are taken to the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center, Mayor Greg Hostetler said, adding that council will look into the matter and do what it can to keep residents safe.
