They came with shovels, saws and support, buckets, back hoes and brawn Saturday and Sunday to help the village of Russells Point Park Board bring Leppich Field back to life.

About two dozens volunteers, many local coaches and former players, spent the weekend cleaning out fence lines, cutting and removing trees, repairing fencing and cleaning up the concession at the decades-old baseball park at the end of Elliott Road in Russells Point.
