Ridgemont Board of Education members approved at their recent meeting the schematic design plans for the district’s new pre K-12 school building.
After months at the drawing board, the district unveiled a cost-effective design that focuses on teacher and student collaboration through project-based learning, Superintendent Emmy Davis said.
The board hopes to approve the design development phase in the next several months and then to advertise for bids early next year.
In personnel matters, members approved internal transfers within the maintenance and food service departments to restaff after the retirement of Chuck Roby. Tiffany Cobb will be moving from food service to the first shift elementary custodial position. Likewise, maintenance employees Brenda Zachary and Gene Ledley each pick up additional hours.
