Hit/skip crash results in OVI charge

Stacy Oakley, 37, of 526 Grand Ave., Russells Point, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, leaving the scene of a crash, and having an open container in a vehicle following a hit/skip crash early Sunday morning.

Deputies responded to Captain’s Point, 305 E. Harrison Ave., Lakeview, about 2:10 a.m. in reference to a crash in the parking  lot.

A pickup reportedly had struck the passenger side of a parked sport utility owned by David M. Garrison of Lakeview. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect vehicle and plate number.

A deputy located the vehicle a short time later at 302 E. Elliott St., Russells Point, and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver, Ms. Oakley, denied being at Captain’s Point that evening or being involved in a crash. Damage was observed to the rear bumper of her pickup.

Field sobriety tests were performed, and Ms. Oakley was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she refused to take a breath test.
