Dustin T. Krouse, 28, of Lakeview, was charged Wednesday with assault and aggravated menacing and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Around 12:35 p.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to 809 Heritage Court and learned the suspect tried to kick in the door of Alisha L. Smith’s apartment. He argued with her and threatened to harm her and her ex-boyfriend.
At one point, according to the victim and witnesses, the suspect brandished a knife at the victim. She took it from him and threw it into a courtyard. He then struck her several times before running off.
A Logan County Sheriff’s detective assisted officers in apprehending the suspect on Cooper Avenue.
Girl lodged in JDC
A 13-year-old Marysville girl was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center after she fought with staff at Mac-A-Cheek School, 1130 W. Sandusky Ave., around 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
She was charged with delinquency counts of assault and persistent disorderly conduct.
Officers arrived at the school and observed Principal Christine Jeffers was cut. They also found the girl struggling with staff members.
She attempted to bite an officer as he was placing her in handcuffs.
Tires slashed at work
Lindsey L. Kilburn of Belle Center reported Thursday night a driver’s side front tire on her car was flattened while parked behind her workplace, Vicario’s Pizza, 825 N. Main St. The tire had been punctured in the sidewall.
• Samantha Clevenger of Bellefontaine reported Thursday money was taken from her purse while she was working at Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, 700 S. Main St. The purse was stored in an employee closet.
