Bond set for Kenton student on inducing panic charges

KENTON — Kenton High School senior Derick Shane Craig was arraigned Monday in Hardin County Municipal Court on a charge of inducing panic and his bond was set at $75,000.

He was charged with the second-degree felony after he allegedly threatened to take firearms to the school and shoot students and staff. The alleged threats reportedly took place Thursday during a class at Kenton High School. Craig was arrested by Kenton Police officers that night.

According to the police report, officers seized narcotics and “a gun safe full of guns” from Craig’s home.

If found guilty of the charge, Craig could face up to eight years in prison and a fine up to $15,000.
