St. Vincent de Paul Society and needy families across Logan County were the real winners of a recent contest among local Jazzercisers who combined to gather three giant bins of food for the local food pantry.
In the contest, participants donated non-perishable goods to earn points toward a chance to win a free pair of shoes from Lee’s Shoes. In addition to the large food haul, contestants also raised $200 cash for the pantry.
Shoe winners included Sallie Evans, Liam Makin, Kris Swisher, Kelsey Haney, Margaret McClanahan, Diana Mancuso and Mary Giannola.
The St. Vincent de Paul pantry is located at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 328 E. Patterson Ave. and is open from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Monetary assistance is offered from 1 to 4 p.m. the first Thursday and 6 to 8 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month.
Call 592-9455 or talk to Mary Giannola for more information.
