ADA — A Lakeview man was seriously injured this morning in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 235 south of Ada, according to the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Ralph Red, 25, was traveling westbound about 6:05 a.m. in a 1996 Dodge Intrepid on County County 60 — about one mile south of Ada — when he failed to stop at the intersection with S.R. 235. A northbound 2007 Kenworth truck driven by Virgil Calvelage, 58, of Columbus Grove, then struck Red's car as it passed through the intersection. The Intrepid was split into two pieces and traveled off the left side of S.R. 235.
Mr. Red was transported by Life Flight to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. As of Thursday morning, he remains in critical condition, hospital officials said.
Mr. Calvelage was not injured in the accident; no citations have been issued as of yet.
Assisting at the scene were Ada EMS, Ada/Liberty Township Fire Department, Ada Police Department, and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
