A Logan County Jail inmate added to her list of charges after she reportedly threatened to harm family members during visitation hours Tuesday.
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office charged Melissa Keeton, 39, of Medway, with aggravated menacing following a confrontation with her sister and mother in the visitation area at the jail about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
She had been jailed on a charge of theft, law enforcement reports.
She quickly became argumentative and started yelling at her visitors — her sister, Kelly Shaw, 44, of Dayton, and her mother, Shirley Sparks, 72, of Huntsville — deputies report. Ms. Keeton screamed profanities, blamed her relatives for having put her in jail and threatened to kill her sister, according to witnesses in the visitation area.
