Church parking issue resolved
After hearing from engineers at a special meeting in August, the Belle Center Village Council gave Administrator Gerald Houchin the go-ahead to proceed with caution along the path toward getting a new water tower.
“Yes, I am ready to do this and the town is, too,” Councilwoman Garnet Roebuck said in response to a question from Mayor Rhonda Fulmer who asked council members if they were sure they wanted to move forward with the project, which likely will cost upward of $1 million.
Dione Campbell then made a motion to allow Mr. Houchin to advertise for bids to engineer the project.
But, Mr. Houchin said this first step does not indicate a set-in-stone commitment to the project.
“It doesn’t mean we have to go forward with it; right now we are just advertising for bids,” he said.
