East Liberty crash results in obstruction charges

A crash in East Liberty resulted in two men being charged with obstructing official business for reportedly lying about the incident, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.

Bridget Eagy, 18, of East Liberty, was southbound on State Route 292 near Hamilton Street at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when she went off the left side of the road and into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control for her role in the crash.

Passengers Jessie J. Rife, 18, of Bellefontaine, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt in connection with the crash.

While investigating the crash, Mr. Rife and witness Christopher M. Border, 19, of Catawba, reportedly gave false statements to the investigating officer and were subsequently charged with obstructing justice.
