Green Hills Care Center is ranked in the top five percent of skilled nursing facilities in the state, according to the Ohio Department of Medicaid.
The care center, located at Green Hills Community, 6557 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty, received 17 points out of a possible 20 points that measure quality care as established by the state agency.
Facilities earn points in areas of overall performance, resident choice, clinical performance, environmental characteristics and employee retention. The more points the better the care.
“As a community non-profit, Green Hills is committed to providing quality care and services to the Logan and Champaign county area,” said Stephanie DeWees, Green Hills Community vice president and administrator. “We are always looking for ways to improve and are pleased to have scored so well.”
President and CEO Mike Ray further explained the score.
“We promote a ‘Resolve to Live GREEN’ philosophy. Residents and staff are encouraged to actively give, respect, engage, encourage and nurture on a daily basis. We believe that this healthy attitude about life encourages employee retention, which in turn promotes quality care. That’s how we do things differently.”
The median number of quality points earned statewide was 12.
Not-for-profit facilities had a median of 14 points while for-profit facilities had a median of 12 points.
