The church formed in 1903 as a mission in Bellefontaine by the Stony Creek Church of the Brethren, organizing and meeting for the first five years in a home along east Auburn Avenue.
A dedicated church building was constructed in 1908 at 534 S. Detroit St., the church’s current location.
Church officials say the organization has gone through many changes in its 110 years, with many worshipers and pastors passing through, but always continuing its teachings and concern for living a godly, righteous life.
