Rachel M. Dove, 28, of St. Marys, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and was cited for failure to yield the right of way during a traffic stop Saturday.

A deputy of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office was operating a southbound cruiser in the area of State Route 235 at State Route 366 about 5:45 p.m. when a vehicle failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled in front of the cruiser.

A traffic stop was initiated and the deputy observed an odor of burnt marijuana while walking up to the vehicle.

When asked if someone in the vehicle had been smoking marijuana, the driver, Ms. Dove, handed the deputy a baggie of marijuana. She said there wasn’t any additional marijuana in the vehicle.

However, during a search of the vehicle, additional marijuana was found inside a tin. Rolling papers were also found in the vehicle and in Ms. Dove’s pockets.

She was transported to the Logan County Jail.
