Stephen D. Breeding, 41, of 180 Grove St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence and obstructing official business after an incident Saturday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of U.S. Route 33 and Township Road 95 about 7 p.m. The caller advised that someone had possibly been struck by a vehicle, and then said a fight was in progress.
An officer of the Russells Point Police Department also responded.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they spoke with Mr. Breeding’s girlfriend, Cristine Ortiz, 38, of Lakeview, who was seated in a pickup parked along the roadway. She reported that she had been driving the vehicle when she and Mr. Breeding got into an argument.
He reportedly had made threats to harm her, so she said she pulled over and told him to walk home. He refused to get out of the pickup, and he allegedly grabbed her by the arm when she tried to exit the vehicle.
The defendant then exited the vehicle and started throwing rocks at the pickup and struck the vehicle with his fists. Deputies noted that he was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
