Logan County voters are reminded that Aug. 7 is the deadline for candidates in local races to file petitions with the Logan County Board of Elections.
Four council seats are available in the November election in each incorporated village in the county: Belle Center, DeGraff, Huntsville, Lakeview, Russells Point, Quincy, Rushsylvania, West Liberty, West Mansfield and Zanesfield.
One seat on the boards of public affairs in DeGraff, Russells Point, Rushsylvania, West Liberty, West Mansfield are also up for election.
Two trustee seats are open in each of the 17 townships and an unexpired term for Jefferson Township’s fiscal officer position will be filled.
Voters in Bellefontaine and Indian Lake school districts will elect two candidates each while voters in Benjamin Logan, Riverside and West Liberty-Salem will elect three.
Election board personnel remind voters there is a special election on the West Liberty-Salem bond issue slated for Aug. 6. Candidates intending to file their paperwork on that day may experience delays because of the election, they said.
Election petitions are available at the Logan County Board of Elections, 225 S. Main St., and must be returned by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7.
