Monica Hurst has been driving boats since she was a child.

“I started when I was 10 to 12 years old, and it was important to my parents that I gain that skill and knowledge early,” said Mrs. Hurst.

She now uses that skill to give other women the same confidence.

Mrs. Hurst runs a women’s boating class each summer at Spend-A-Day Marina at Indian Lake, where she works as sales manager and marketing and advertising. She is the granddaughter of Spend-A-Day’s founder Bill Reed and the daughter of current owner Jim Reed.
