For the last two decades, each of Dr. Dwight Skidmore’s trips to the Logan County Fair were in a working and care-taking capacity.

Starting next year, annual visits to the county fair will be for leisure, not work.

Northside Animal Clinic, the veterinary clinic Dr. Skidmore owns and operates at 1770 N. U.S. Route 68, has provided veterinary services to the Logan County Fair for years, under the former owner, Dr. Tim Tillman. The Logan County native has decided to make his 22nd year as fair veterinarian his last.

“I want to focus more on my own dairy operation,” Dr. Skidmore said following Tuesday’s Junior Fair swine show. He didn’t rule out returning to future fairs as an exhibitor.

CORRECTION: This story has ben updated to accurately reflect Dr. Skidmore's courtesy title.
