After several complaints of weekend thefts from vehicles in the Holly Lane area and an another regarding a theft from a nearby home at 111 E. Elliott Road, Russells Point Police launched an investigation Sunday morning into a pair that had been invited to the home for a pool party.
The homeowner reported the theft of three firearms, a Nintendo Wii and a blue ray disc player and named Aushele Sarver, 19, of 13938 Blue Jacket Path, Lakeview, and Chanc Carter, 24, of 725 N. Detroit St., Bellefontaine, as possible suspects.
Police went to the home of Ms. Sarver where they observed the blue ray player, the game console and several items reported missing from the vehicles sitting in the living room in plain sight.
Mr. Carter was initially arrested for theft until the firearms were found under the bed he was sleeping in. He subsequently was charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property.
Ms. Sarver claimed responsibility for the series of thefts and was charged for the same. She also was charged with conveyance of drugs into a detention facility after drugs were found on her person as she was being lodged at the Logan County Jail.
