A new administrator was approved at Tuesday’s West Liberty-Salem school board meeting to replace the outgoing dean of students.
Paul Hohlbein begins his administrative career at WL-Salem as an assistant principal. He has 24 years in education and most recently worked as a middle school math teacher in Anna Local Schools.
He replaces Mike Freese, who resigned for the purpose of retirement effective May 31 after 33 years in the district.
“I’m excited to trade in the green for orange and black,” Mr. Hohlbein said. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Mr. Hohlbein will have a two-year contract. His salary is $65,446.50, school officials reported after the meeting.
