Teresa M. Gatchell, 53, of 501 N. Troy Road, was issued a summons for dogs at large after her canines escaped and caused a motorcycle crash about 7 a.m. Friday on Troy Road.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report that Joel Hoelscher, 34, of Rushsylvania was operating a motorcycle northbound in the 900 block of north Troy Road when it struck one of Ms. Gatchell’s canine that entered the roadway.
Mr. Hoelscher and a passenger, Sheila Judd, 37, of 1026 Heritage Court, were transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
The dog sustained serious injuries and was euthanized.
A second dog owned by Ms. Gatchell also got loose but was not injured in the incident.
