UPDATE: Hardin County crash claims Ridgeway man

KENTON  — A Ridgeway man was killed Friday in a two-vehicle crash on County Road 155, south of Kenton, the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

Daniel Oates, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.

Lori Humphrey, 49, of Rushsylvania, was driving a southbound 2000 Ford Explorer on C.R. 155 just south of County Road 180 about 12:30 p.m. when her vehicle went left of center and struck a northbound 2005 Chevrolet Aveo operated by Mr. Oates.

The Chevrolet then went off the left side of the road and Mr. Oates was ejected as it rolled over.

Ms. Humphrey and a daughter, Destiny Wells, were not injured, according to the patrol.

The patrol was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Kenton Fire Department, BKP Ambulance, the Hardin County coroner and the Montgomery County coroner.

The accident remains under investigation.
