Domestic call results in drug charges

Brandon “Brandy” E. Maier, 29, of 321 E. Patterson Ave., Bellefontaine, was charged with three counts of possession of drugs, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, falsification and disorderly conduct after an incident Wednesday evening.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 3000 block of County Road 18 about 6:50 p.m. in reference to a domestic dispute.

The caller said a female had gotten out of a gray pickup and was walking alongside the road.

The pickup was located, and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver, Anthony Mathews, 26, of 509 Albert St., Apt. B, Bellefontaine, said he and his ex-girlfriend, Ms. Maier, had been in an argument and she reportedly threw her purse out of the vehicle while it was moving. She then got out of the pickup to retrieve her purse.

However, deputies located a purse inside the vehicle. Inside the purse were prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia, including syringes, a spoon and a lighter.

Ms. Maier was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

Mr. Mathews was issued citations for driving without an operator’s license and disorderly conduct. He was transported to his residence by a deputy.
