Internet connections are helping genealogists and distant relatives erase miles of travel to locate gravesites across the country.

Volunteers can check on requests filed with www.findagrave.com and then agree to locate and photograph gravesites to file the requests, Bellefontaine Mayor Adam Brannon said.
It is a fulfilling way to spend an evening or Saturday morning, he said.
Thus far, he has been able to fill 29 requests.
Requests can be easy to fill, while others require more time because records for the cemetery are sparse or incomplete.
