A couple of regional projects were beneficiaries of a portion of more than $7 million released Wednesday by the Ohio Department of Transportation for safe routes to school projects in municipalities all over the state.
The funding will be used to help communities improve safety for schoolchildren by building or improving sidewalks and crosswalks. It will also provide more education and encouragement to help children learn how to be safe when walking or bicycling to school.
