Teacher gets week-long floral send-off

When Melanie Fry walked into her kindergarten classroom Monday afternoon, she had no idea why there were boxes of roses on her desk.
“There were so many I thought they were for my students!” she said Friday on the last day of school.
But, the flowers were all for her, to help celebrate the end of her 35-year teaching career at Indian Lake Schools.
The flowers were the idea of her daughter-in-law, Kyra Miller Fry, who started a Facebook campaign for former students to send single stemmed flowers to Mrs. Fry in her last week at the elementary.
The flowers came pouring in.
