Members of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force arrested a Columbus area man on multiple drug charges Thursday evening at a Zanesfield area residence.
Ronald E. Houston, 33, was charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possession of heroin, possession of crack/cocaine and having weapons under disability.
He is currently lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Drug Task Force officers were investigating drug activity at the Mountain View Mobile Home Park, 4000 Alpine Valley Road, which led to the arrest of the defendant.
During the arrest, task force members seized multiple grams of crack/cocaine and heroin. The vehicle the suspect was driving was seized, along with a loaded handgun.
The Bellefontaine Police Department’s canine unit, Arco, and his handler assisted at the scene.
Kay Slesinger, who has owned Mountain View Mobile Home Park for its 30 years, said she supports the task force’s efforts to rid drugs from the community and urged other residents to report suspected criminal activity.
“I am thrilled and pleased with the Bellefontaine Police Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office for taking care of this and the effort they put in to rid this poison from our community,” she said in a phone call to the Examiner.
