A bicyclist stopped and waiting to cross Sandusky Avenue at Detroit Street escaped serious injury after being struck by a sport utility vehicle around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Timothy P. Wilson, 44, of Bellefontaine, was treated at the scene by a Bellefontaine squad for injuries his left hand and knee and to his face but he was not transported to a hospital.

He was stopped southbound on Detroit and was hit by a sport utility vehicle which witnesses said cut the corner while turning north from an eastbound lane.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department cited the driver, Larry E. Rich, 55, of Bellefontaine, for an improper turn.
