Five people, including three children, were transported to area hospitals for possible injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash this morning at state routes 117 and 273.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff's Office report that Heidi Stump, 37, of Belle Center was operating a southbound car on S.R. 117 about 7:05 a.m. when she attempted to turn left onto S.R. 273. She drove into the path of a northbound car operated by Taha Hashem, 30, of Alberta, Canada, and their vehicles collided.
Ms. Stump was transported by BMRT squad to Mary Rutan Hospital. Her passengers, Haylee Stump, 15; Jessie Stump, 6; and Ty Stump, 10, were transported by Robinaugh and Huntsville squads to MRH.
Mr. Hashem was transported by Huntsville squad to Lima Memorial Health System.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage and were towed from the scene. Ms. Stump was cited for failure to yield while turning left.
