1 transported after 2-vehicle crash

US33-TR99 crash

Joshua D. Smith, 17, of Zanesfield, was transported Tuesday afternoon by Huntsville squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a crash at U.S. Route 33 and Township Road 99. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was a passenger in a northbound car operated by Nicholas Taylor, 18, of Huntsville, that failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign. The car was struck in the side by a westbound sport utility vehicle operated by Charles E. Hanger, 67, of Huntsville. Both drivers also reported injuries, but were not transported by squad. The two vehicles each sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. Mr. Taylor was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign. EXAMINER PHOTO | T.J. HUBBARD
