SIDNEY — A Celina area man was injured early this morning after a rock thrown from an overpass on Interstate 75 in Shelby County entered his vehicle.

Troopers of the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that Richard C. Eaton, 51, was operating a southbound vehicle about 2:15 a.m. when a rock was thrown from the Lockington Road overpass.

The rock was reported as entering through the windshield of the vehicle, and investigators found the rock in several pieces inside the vehicle, which had crashed in the ditch just south of the overpass.

The driver was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident and crash remain under investigation.
