After a two-year location search, Shengyao Lin of Jefferson has chosen to open her first restaurant in Russells Point.

Mrs. Lin plans to renovate the building at 233 State Route 708 to house a new Chinese restaurant. A name for the small eat-in and carry-out venture is yet to be selected.
The building was formerly occupied by The Realty Passkey, which moved to a new location in late March.
The restaurant's atmosphere and cuisine will be typical fare, but Mrs. Lin wants to try “some new style, like special order,” that if well received, could be added to the menu.
In addition to interior redesign, renovation work will include paving part of the property for additional parking the location lacked.
Mrs. Lin continues to finalize plans, but expects to employ four and be open by July 4.
While this is her first foray into sole proprietorship, she is no stranger to the business, studying under the tutelage of her father, a 20-year chef and restaurant owner in Jefferson. Her husband also is a chef of 10 years.
“I know the point for restaurant,” she said. “Good services and taste, clean dining room, big smiles.
“I’ll do my best!”
