St. Patrick’s Day on local law enforcement radar

Officials from the Russells Point and Washington Township police departments and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are combining to reinforce traffic safety for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend, planning targeted patrol and offering tips for a safe holiday weekend.

To prevent tragedies from occurring, local law enforcement recommends planning a safe way home before the festivities begin; designate a sober driver and leave your car keys at home; if impaired, use a taxi, call a sober friend or family member, or use public transportation to get home safely; report drunk drivers on the road, contact local police; and take the keys from people who are about to drive or ride while impaired.
