Driver charged with OVI after vehicle found in ditch

Maynard Campbell, 65, of Port Jefferson, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to control, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident late Tuesday evening.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a report about 10:40 p.m. from a passerby who observed a vehicle in a ditch at State Route 720 near Township Road 86 in Stokes Township.

When deputies located the vehicle, they found the driver, Mr. Campbell, who showed signs of intoxication.

During a search of his person, deputies found suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Mr. Campbell’s pocket.

He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
