The recognition was made at a zone meeting of the Lions clubs in Logan County — Bellefontaine, Huntsville/Indian Lake, Rushsylvania, West Liberty and West Mansfield — at the Liberty Gathering Place in West Liberty.
A member of the West Mansfield Lions Club since 1955, Mr. Garvin received a plaque and lapel pin from Micheal Gibbs, zone chairman.
“If you have attended the annual West Mansfield turkey raffle, you have no doubt seen John greeting people at the door, selling raffle tickets, spinning the ticket drum and cleaning off tables,” said Mr. Gibbs.
