Two Lakeview area men who were wanted by Logan County authorities were arrested Wednesday evening after a stand-off with law enforcement at a Wapakoneta hotel.
About 3 p.m., Wapakoneta Police received information from Logan County Sheriff’s Office deputies that two suspects were staying at a hotel room at the Western Inn and Suites, 413 Apollo Drive, Wapakoneta.
The suspects were identified as Dustin Krouse, 27, of 125 S. Main St., Lakeview; and Zachary Potter, 27, of 355 N. Oak St., Apt. A, Lakeview. They each had active warrants in Logan County — Mr. Krouse for felony burglary, and Mr. Potter for felony domestic violence.
The subjects reportedly had made comments to deputies that they would not go peacefully, and they were considered dangerous.
Police verified with the hotel that the two subjects had rented room 214.
The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and Hostage Negotiation Team were requested to assist at the scene, and a perimeter was set up around the hotel.
Negotiations with the subjects occurred about 6:30 p.m., and the defendants gave up peacefully without incident, Wapakoneta officers report.
Both Mr. Krouse and Mr. Potter were transferred to Logan County deputies, and were booked in the Logan County Jail about 8:30 p.m.
Wapakoneta Police will meet with the Auglaize County Prosecutor to determine additional charges for the two men.
