Sheriff’s office encourages Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association membership

SIDNEY — Shelby County Sheriff John Lenhart has issued an appeal to area residents to be a part of the fight against crime by becoming associate members of the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association.

Membership appeals will be distributed in the mail, and are in response to the increasing number of people wanting to assist law enforcement officials and build a stronger relationship in the fight against crime.

Individuals who want to join the voluntary program can do so with a $20 contribution. The funding provides critically-important technical resources, training and legislative support on key criminal justice issues.

Individuals who do not receive a membership appeal and would like more information should contact: Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association, 1103 Schrock Road, Suite 401, Columbus, OH, 43329, or by phone at (800) 589-2771.

Residents can also become members of the program by contacting the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 498-1111.
