Tri-Valley firefighter Brandon Dearwester, above, photographs a crash scene Thursday afternoon in the 3200 block of County Road 10 west of U.S. Route 33.
Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a one-vehicle crash that resulted in a 16-year-old Bellefontaine boy being transported by a Tri-Valley squad to Mary Rutan Hospital.
The teen reportedly was operating an eastbound car on C.R. 10 about 3 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then continued across the left side of the road where he struck and broke off the bottom portion of a utility pole located in the front lawn of a residence. The vehicle came to rest against two poles in a neighboring yard.
Damage to the vehicle was heavy.
Updates will be posted at examiner.org as they become available.
