Members of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force arrested two local women Wednesday for trafficking in heroin after a 3:50 p.m. traffic stop on State Route 287 near NEX Transport, 13900 S.R. 287, East Liberty.
The two women, Megan Shoffner, 24, of 445 N. Main St., Lakeview, and Joanne Keating, 28, of 6664 Crowl Road, DeGraff, were passengers in the vehicle. They also were charged with possession of heroin.
A bulk amount of black tar heroin and drug paraphernalia was seized during the traffic stop.
Members of the task force were following up on an investigation regarding the trafficking of black tar heroin out of Columbus, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
The driver of the vehicle, Tammy Clark, 45, of Park Street, Orchard Island, Lakeview, was issued a citation for driving under suspension. A third passenger in the vehicle was not charged.
Ms. Shoffner and Ms. Keating were placed under arrest and were transported to the Logan County Jail.
